Dr. Md. Golam Hossain is a distinguished professor in the Department of Statistics at the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh, where he also serves as the convener of the Health Research Group. With an academic career spanning nearly three decades, Dr. Hossain specializes in health and medical statistics, epidemiology, and physical anthropology. He has guided numerous M.Sc., M.Phil., and Ph.D. students in these fields, contributing significantly to academic research and teaching.

Dr. Hossain holds a Ph.D. in Physical Anthropology from Tokyo Metropolitan University, Japan, where he explored secular changes in head dimensions of Japanese adults over eight decades. He later completed a post-doctoral research fellowship at the University of Malaya, Malaysia, in the Tissue Engineering Group, focusing on innovative medical research.

An accomplished scholar, Dr. Hossain has published extensively, with over 153 full papers in academic journals, 47 papers in proceedings, and 19 book chapters. He is a life member of several prestigious organizations, including the Bangladesh Statistical Association and the Indian Sociological Association. His research has taken him to countries such as Japan, Malaysia, Australia, and Saudi Arabia, contributing to his global perspective on health research.

Dr. Hossain’s expertise in biostatistics, data analysis, and research methodology, along with his leadership in the field of health statistics, has established him as a key figure in both national and international academic circles.
